Past Continuous Tense
ประโยคที่ใช้ past continuous tense ใช้บอกเหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้น ณ เวลาหนึ่งในอดีต
เช่น เวลาเราอยากทำใครว่าเมื่อวานเธอกำลังทำอะไรอยู่ ทำไมไม่รับโทรศัพท์ หรือตอนที่ฝนตกเมื่อวาน เธอกำลังทำอะไร
โครงสร้างของ Past Continuous Tense
👉Subject + was/ were + V.ing (present participle)
Past continuous tense จะใช้คู่กับ Past simple
👉Past continuous ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิดขึ้นอยู่
👉Past simple ใช้บอกเหตุการณ์ที่เข้ามาแทรก
ตัวอย่างประโยคที่ใช้ Past continuous tense จะใช้คู่กับ Past simple
When I woke up this morning, it was raining heavily.
I was walking home, when I saw two thieves run out of the bank.
ประโยคปฏิเสธ
Subject + was/ were + not + V.ing (present participle)
Jack was not washing dishes.
They were playing video games intensely when I called.
ประโยคคำถาม
Was/ Were + subject + V.ing (present participle)?
Wh-question + was/ were + subject+ V.ing (present participle)?
Were you sleeping yesterday when the officer dropped by?
Why was she crying when we left the class?
